SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY | Charles Sicking, Chief Geophysicist | Weinman Geoscience

Charles Sicking received a Bachelor’s in Physics in 1969 and a Ph.D. in Geophysics in 1980, both from The University of Texas at Austin. Charles spent 19 years in geophysical research at ARCO where he led and contributed to development projects for wavelet processing, inversion, imaging, velocity model building, geopressure prediction, and 3D immersive visualization. At Weinman Geoscience he has led the development of several imaging and analysis algorithms, including the patented technique for azimuthal migration. Contributions in other fields include radar and laser imaging algorithms and analysis algorithms for airborne and satellite imaging systems. Charles is currently the Chief Geophysicist for Weinman Geoscience.
